Treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder
Session 1-
Aim - To build rapport and have a brief understanding of the problem.
Process-
The patient was offered a comfortable seat and a glass of water and asked for tea and snacks. Normal conversation like where do you live, how you come here, to whom do you live etc was started to build rapport. During this conversation, the patient was found to be emotionally unstable, depressive, feeling of unworthiness. Patient was then asked about his positive things. After thinking alot, patient counted like I can do many activities like kartav, cutting wrist and all this don't harm her. Then the patient was asked about the reason for self harm. She said it gives pleasure. Then the patient was told about the disadvantages of it. Then the patient promised to not attempt such things. Patient was advised to play with neighbour and family when she want to do such work and to count back from 9 to 1 at that time. The patient was called for next visit after 15 days.
Session 2
Aim- To analyse the last step and further clarify the problem.
Process-
The patient was offered a comfortable seat and a glass of water. She was asked about the response of last visit. She said that she can't control her anger many times and jumped from first floor of her house to show her neighbour. She was motivated to not do such things and was undergone Dialectial Behavior Therapy. Patient was called after 15 days.
